The top six riders from day one at the #GermanWorldSBK round reflect on Friday’s action

Friday’s quickest WorldSBK rider Lorenzo Savadori (IodaRacing Team) was happy after the first day of action at Lausitzring as he and his fellow top six riders provided their thoughts on their day’s work in Germany.

Savadori commented: “I’m happy because I don’t know this track and it is my first time here. I’m happy for myself, for Aprilia and for my team because we have worked very hard. I still need to improve the feeling with this track and with the bike, but I’m happy overall today.”

The second fastest rider in FP2 was Markus Reiterberger (Althea BMW Racing Team), who added, “I’m very happy to be back in Superbikes after the long injury break and I feel good now. For sure the pressure is high with all the fans coming here, but I am enjoying my riding a lot. It was a good day today. First of all I tried to get the rhythm back on the bike and now I feel good. In the second practice we were quite fast so we can keep working like this.”

Having finished the day in third, Kawasaki Racing Team’s Tom Sykes also stated, “We have made a lot of changes. We had a test here on a standard ZX-10R which was useful in a way, but we still had a lot of work to do. As soon as I jumped on the race bike this morning the circuit was so much more different, but actually quite easy, easier than I expected!”
